Faith
How Christian is Your Christian College?
As a mom of four, whose children may attend college in the future, and as someone who attended a secular college, I have many thoughts on this issue. Many Christian parents only allow “Christian Colleges” as a possibility, assuming and trusting that the word Christian in the schools name means that the school upholds the tenets of the faith, both on paper and in practice.

Family
One Thing You Must do with your Kids in Every State
Having traveled to 33 states with my kids two years ago, we are well on our way to hitting all 50 before the graduate.  However we definitely missed some of these sites.  Oh well, I guess that just means we need to road trip again!

Art of Winging It — I don’t know…YET
I forget which teacher it was, but one of the awesome teachers I had through middle school and high school forbid his students from saying, “I don’t know.”  We were allowed to say, “I don’t know, yet,” but not simply, “I don’t know.”  There difference is both small and huge.  It’s a one word difference, but a galaxy away difference in mindset. The former stops at defeat.  The latter acknowledges a temporary weakness with the intention of filling in the gap.

Education
What Was the KGB and Why Was it so Feared?
Since I started homeschooling my kids 10 years ago I have learned so many things I was either never taught or did not remember from my days of formal education.  Here is one such example.

Work
8 Months Ago I Quit My Job and Spent My Life Savings to Start a Hot Sauce Company
For every such success story, I am sure there are an equal number (or more) of failure stories, and yet hearing such good news always leaves me inspired to strive for great things.

I’m a sucker for unique housing.  This one looks interesting — who doesn’t like legos, how about house-sized legos??
